- Take 1/2 chopped onion
- Take 1 tsp jeera seeds
- Take 2 cinnamon sticks
- Take 2 bayleaf
- Prepare 1 sprig curry leaves
- Make ready 1 cup frozen mix veg
- Prepare Handfull Chopped dhanya
- Get Few leaves mint chopped
- Make ready Layering for breyani
- Get 4 potatoes cut in quarters and fried
- Make ready 1 onion cut in rings fried till golden
- Make ready Keep both aside for layering
- Get 2 Tbs butter
- Take Handfull Chopped dhanya
Steps to make Chicken breyani:
- Boil rice together with the turmeric, salt, water and lentils till semi soft and strain.Keep aside.
- Marinate the chicken with all ingredients mentioned in ingredients section for marinade and leave to marinate for 1 hr
- In a med size pot, add the oil for braising, onions, jeera seeds, cinnamon sticks, bay leaves and fry till onions are light brown. Add the marinated chicken, curry leaves,1/2 cup water,mixed veg and cook for 30 mins on med heat.If curry is dry add little more water as there must be gravy.When chicken is cooked add a handful of chopped dhanya, few chopped mint leaves.Take off heat.
- Preheat the oven at 180°c.Add half of the rice over the curry, fried potatoes,some fried onions leaving some for the top of rice.Add the rest of the rice and lastly the rest of onions.Sprinkle some more chopped dhanya and 2 Tbs butter.Seal pot with the lid and place in the oven to steam for 45mins.Gently mix through and serve with sides of dhal and salad
